Hello, I have a duo 280 and a ethernet equipped dock which is connected to another machine with a crossover cable. A couple of days ago, I got some funny sounds, rising(I think) chimes when starting from the dock and the monitor attached to the dock lost power. I attached the monitor to a separate socket, rather than going through the dock and it started up ok after a few tries and other weird noises. The duo now seems to work ok in the dock, but I can no longer get AppleTalk to work between the machines. I am guessing it might be power supply related, due to the monitor not getting power from the dock. Could something have damaged the ethernet card, it is a farallon nubus one? Is it safe to keep using the dock? Thanks John Johnston ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
