One thing to try is to uninstall Surf Doubler and see if the Etherdock
suddenly starts working better.  Or, better yet, try a fresh System install
with nothing twitchy on top of it, and see how that works.  Or a different
System version, maybe?  I'm running with 8.0...

Maybe a hard drive problem?  That'd explain why you can copy from the Duo
(not creating new files), but not to it (trying to create new files on a
damaged drive or directory).  Do SCSI copies work?  Tried TechTool on the
drive?

Hey, by the way, you wouldn't happen to have a copy of the E-Machines
"PowerLink Control Panel", would you?  I can't find this (rumored) Etherdock
video widget online, anywhere.
