I am running a Duo 2300 under OS 8.6. The hard disk never stops spinning. I guess it's because SurfDoubler is always on & connected to the internet. However, Surf Doubler should not have to keep accessing the disk, so I see no reason for the hard disk to keep spinning. I try to spin the disk down manually, but it spins right back up again. Is there no way around this? Of course the system never goes to sleep, which is fine, but I have also enabled processor cycling. I suppose this also has no effect as Surf Doubler is always working. I seem to recall in earlier Energy Saver extensions some kind of "smart sleep" option which kept the computer awake when processing was going on whether or not the keyboard or mouse was touched. This would seem to be the solution I need for the hard disk spinning. BTW -- I downloaded "Sleeper" but it does not seem to do anything differently than the Apple software. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
