Ken has been itching for some time to replace the underlying use of tar archives with something else.
I just ran across xar today and wondered if anyone's had experience with it, good or bad. http://code.google.com/p/xar/ I haven't dug into it yet, but it claims to address many of the limitations of tar that Ken outlines in http://www.nongnu.org/duplicity/new_format.html. The only negative I've seen so far is that it uses some XML. :-) There is also a Python module for it, although they say it's incomplete. -- Larry Gilbert Computer geekery since 1976 Sent from Del Mar, CA, United States _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~duplicity-team Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~duplicity-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
