anyway, smells more like a gpg issue now. google 
 "can't create lock for" trustdb.gpg
and see if something comes up.

i suspect either or a combination of
- a file system permission issue of /root/.gnupg or files therein
- corrupted filesystem, run fsck
- mountpoint containing /root running full
