I reopened this and will make a patch for this case ASAP.
It seems to me that the utilities with ncftp are the problem, not ncftp
itself. It may be that we need to use pexpect for ncftp the same way we do
with ssh so that we can use just the main utility. There seem to be a new
glitch introduced on every new release of ncftp utlities that make them not
backwards compatible.
