Details:
This patch adds support for european buckets, which is enabled by:
--s3-use-new-style --s3-european-buckets
Most of the work involved testing, because after initial creation you can see
various errors of different types semi-deterministically until the bucket
"settles". I have added a note on this in the man page.
I presume it has to do with things propagating internally in S3's systems
such that the bucket takes a while to be fully usable, but I haven't found
specific confirmation on what the expected behavior is.
However, I did verify that a newly created European bucket wasn't usable
until after a few minutes with JungleDisk on OS X (my duplicity testing being
on FreeBSD), so it does not seem limited to duplicity's use.
Once "settled", things seem to work fairly consistently. The problem is
partially that S3 uploads *never* work 100% consistently for me, so it is a
bit difficult to claim it works perfectly since I don't have a test case that
is expected to never ever fail.
Anyways; no new functionality is enabled without the user explicitly asking
for it, so it feels quite safe to commit IMO. I'll send a requst for testing
to the mailing list so that more users see it, that are potentially
interested.
