Let's see if I understand this... what you want is something like:

# duplicity ssh://source/dir ssh://target/dir

Is that correct?

If so, then most of the code is already there, just not tied together in any
meaningful way.  Plus, this would require a fairly major change to command
line processing.  This is a good idea, but would be very network intensive. 
Why not just have the source push directly to the target?  If you have ssh
access, you should be able to set that up.
