I've been thinking about that since I used dvbcut for the first time.

Not on DVB-T, as far as I can tell.

There are other clues as well - a switch to/from wide screen mode, for
example. Or the average volume level (commercials are usually louder
than movies). Jingles that indicate the beginning or end of a commercial
break. And so on...

Besides that, it's really tricky nowadays. Some logos change position
during a movie, for example.

I think there are several logo filter programs out there.
