That should be ok, since scons is called indirectly from within the Makefile. Actually our Makefile isn't a "normal" one... instead "make" you could just call "scons" directly to build dvbcut!
However,... on my system (Suse 10.1) there's also a build problem/bug... I have to delete the directory "ffmpeg" manually prior to every make-call.
