Hi,

I am using debian sarge and wanted to use the debian package for dvbcut.
However, I could not
install it. I think it was build for sid or etch. Am I right?

So I build my own package for sarge. But I got the error message

>dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies: libao-dev (>= 0.8.6-1.1)

My libao-dev is 0.8.6-1 (version from sarge). I then used the -d flag to
override and was able to
build the package. So my question is: do I really need 0.8.6-1.1? If not, the
build-deps coud be
changed to allow other sarge-users do build the package.

Sven, if you are interested I could send you the package to be put on the web
so that debian users
are able to directly download the right package.

Juergen
