Yes. But that would require a separation of the MPEG stuff from the Qt

That's only logical (as long as it's done consistently).

I already skipped that part. Patches are easy to edit if you know what
you're doing. ;)

A marker character sounds like a good idea. But I wouldn't use letters
because they could be confused with frame types. What about "*" for
exported frames and a blank for non-exported ones?

Patches should *always* refer to the latest revision. And, by the way,
it would be nice if everybody who submits a patch also included a
Changelog entry.
