A lot of people found the original set of reds based off the site scheme to be too bright--I have tried to make them darker and not so strident. I hope this helps. If red is still not your thing, log in and go to this page:

The old purple skin, Iris, can be chosen, or MediaWiki's usual default, MonoBook, which is like the style Wikipedia has. There are other options as well. The user tags to InsaneJournal, noted as broken, have been fixed. As others have mentioned, there are now icons being uploaded onto the wiki. External links that go off the wiki are now stylized.
