Would it be possible to have an option that allows a poster to moderate their own posts to a community and, along the same lines, screen their own comments when commenting in a personal journal.
Most of the comms I belong to have open posting and say that if you want to post something OT, you need to ask the mods first. But sometimes you aren't sure if something is OT or not. As it stands now, you have to contact the moderator, ask if it's okay if you post about X (and X is not always something that's easy to describe in a few sentences), then write your post. The feature I'm thinking of would allow you to check a box that says, "put my post in the moderation queue" or something similar and maybe also have a place where you can address the mod and tell him/her why you moderated it. They can then approve it or not as the case may be. That lets you skip the step of contacting the moderator first and asking permission and lets the mod see the entirety of the post before deciding if they want to allow it or not. Similarly, it would be nice if you could automatically screen your own comments when you comment to a personal journal and also maybe put in a note for the journal owner so they know why you did it. This would be especially helpful if you're posting a comment you know will be controversial and you're willing to accept the fallout of what you have to say, but you aren't sure if the journal owner wants the fallout to happen in their comments. _______________________________________________ dw-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dwscoalition.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dw-discuss
