I would object to IP logging unless there was a flag at the top of every post by that user indicating that IP Logging was turned on. Since you have the choice to comment or not if the user has IP logging on (and, as I understand it, the user doesn't get your IP unless/until you comment), I would find this a ridiculous violation of privacy, but maybe I'm crazy.
