This awk filter was written to replace markdown.pl from diri. I think it works (I have tested it with some of the pages in the wiki), but I ask everybody to test it and review it. I am not an awk expert and I'm sure things can be done in a better way (the links implementation is a bit tricky, for example). There are some markdown features which are missing, but if they are needed probably they could be added. I hope to see your comments, ciao!
