You should try it. In short: suppose you have windows stacked in this order:
a_1 a_2 a_3 ....
where a_1 is the top window.
Calling focusswitch:
call1 a_2 a_1 a_3 ....
call2 a_1 a_2 a_3 ....
call3 a_2 a_1 a_3 ....

Alt+Tab, because I was accustomed to Window Maker's Alt+Tab.
Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right to go to the prev/next workspace (in the Y axis).
