Java issue "grey blob". For your information: I installed jre1.7.0, from jre-7-ea-bin-b24-linux-i586-04_dec_2007.jar. It fixed one program, "HanziHelper", but not another, "OpenCards".
I set my Java preference back to 1.5, and tried "export AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit" (as suggested elsewhere on this mailing list).
