95% of my work is either in a ssh session, or a bit of web apps and
outlook, so I can use the mouse when I need to fire up OpenOffice.
Worth the pain for me. :)

Best solution would be to figure out how to use the Windows key, as that
is what I use under Linux.

That would be MOD_WIN but it's mentioned on MSDN that this is reserved
for use by the operating system. I have once tried it but there were
indeed some problems / unexpected shortcuts...
