I had a TS830S for 18 years or so before I sold it last year after I bought my FT1000MP. It was an excellent rig that still compares favorably with the crop of current radios. I used it for a very long time without a second VFO, there is a mod that changes the RIT/XIT control so that it covers approximately +/- 10 KHz. With that mod, you can handle most of the split operations, on CW anyway. 73, -- _ /~\ The ASCII | J o h n B a s t i n K 8 A J S \ / Ribbon Campaign | [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] X Against HTML | http://www.qsl.net/k8ajs / \ Email! | Subscribe/unsubscribe, feedback, FAQ, problems http://njdxa.org/dx-chat To post a message, DX related items only, [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is the DX-CHAT reflector sponsored by the NJDXA http://njdxa.org
