Fred, Ah, well, Ponsonby Britt OBE isn't a member of WASH. So I'm afraid that you're mistaken on whether or not WASH is sponsoring the Mooslyvania DXpedition.
Regardless, Ponsonby assures me that Mooslyvania is outside the territorial claim of the Seminoles; he says that they don't want it either. And since he was the Executive Producer of the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (just check the credits), he should know. 73, ron wn3vaw When asked "If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have resigned?", Republican Member of the House of Representatives Dick Armey replied: "If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, "How do I reload this damn thing?" ----- Original Message ----- From: Fred Stevens K2FRD <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: DX Chat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 04, 2002 5:37 PM Subject: Re: [DX-CHAT] Speaking of DXCC... I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, Ron, but the Isle of Moosylvania is squarely in the middle of the Seminole Indian Reservation. The members of WASH will have to discover another new DXCC entity; or, perhaps they might want to work on developing a 51st state so that 52nd state can be brought into the Union. OR, you and WASH can help me on my latest new-DXCC entity project: obtaining DXCC entity status for all the 600 or so Indian Reservations in the U.S. Since by treaty, each reservation is a sovereign nation, isn't it about time the DXCC desk and the IARU people recognize this fact and grant them their own prefix? After all, they have their own governments, police and courts, systems of taxation through casinos, and languages, so it's only logical they have their own prefixes (prefices?). For example, the Oneida Indian Reservation just north of me could be OIR2xxx (would need three letters in the suffixes). Think what this would do for DX hunters! It would open a whole new world of DXing! There would be a new award: WAIR (Worked All Indian Reservations). And instead of a measly 326 DXCC entitites, there would be more than 900! Waddya think? 73 de Fred K2FRD At 12:53 -0400 04/09/2002, Ron Notarius WN3VAW wrote: >Now that we've finally got this uploaded... > >Considering the discussion the last few days about DXCC entities, I thought >some of you might appreciate an article in my club's newsletter about a >potential new DXCC entity that has yet to be activated. > >You can find the article in the September 2002 issue of the WASHRag at >http://www.washarc.org (just follow the links to the newsletter >page) on Page 6. > >I know... the thought of a new enitity is almost like a fairy tale, although >to some a fractured one at that.
