I have read with great interest the many toooos and fros , fors and againsts etc. I remember when I was requested to work 11m band from Mellish and other places for that matter. For the most part the majority of FREEBANDERS as u all call them actually eminate from within Europe. You all need to realise that Freebanders and legal CB radio users are not necessarily the same people. Here in VK there is a certain amount of operators that operate above the legal CB radio band using all sorts of amateur style equipment. Then there are many who enjoy there hobby and abide by rules etc. Many of todays amateurs worldwide actually began in CB radio....... yes there are some OLD TIMERS who didn't I agree but we must not get in a situation here where we ridicule all and tar them with the FREEBANDER logo.
Meantime we all need to try to understand one main point before strained relations become worse. That point being that we should all work together to make the hobby a more enjoyable sport and if that means working with others who are not as fortunate as us as to have their own ham license then so be it... gee after they see what we are able to perform and do they just might get interested enough to join our ranks and if that ain't what is needed then perhaps I am not understanding radio too well.
