Is 3Y0X monitoring his QRG ??
The CW bands have gone to Haiti, since the FCC restructured

Hi Larry (et al),
Frequency cops will (sadly) always be with us. Consider that many operators - including me - have been trying for 5 or 6 nights, 4 or 5 hours a night, trying to bag them on 40 without success, I understand their frustration. That's still no excuse to act out on the air, but I do feel their pain when some cretin gets on and starts jamming because he doesn't like the United States in general or stateside operators, or feels 3Y isn't working enough EU or whatever his problem is. I have absolutely nothing against individuals from across the pond, but that comment is specifically targeted at the ignorant EU ops that make pileups so much more difficult that they otherwise need to be.

I'm also going to risk severe scorching by saying this but I think a small part of the problem is on the 3Y side as well. For whatever reason, the 40 CW op is choosing to spread out over far too wide an area (20 kHz for CW?? Please!), works maybe 2 or 3 calls a minute on average and never gives any clue as to where he's listening. With piles of that magnitude (this is by far the worst dawgpile I've ever seen in my life), I also find it curious as to why they don't go by continent/numbers with their best ops to whittle the pile down a little. Post a sked and stick to it, etc. NA ONLY between x and y, Europe ONLY between y and z, etc. For whatever reason the other bands are generally not bad at all and piles, although deep, are somewhat orderly -- it's just 40 that things are bad in, and I wish from this side of things that they'd help us out a little, too.

Don't get me wrong, overall it's a fantastic operation and I'm very very grateful for they're being there -- and believe me, a substantial donation is going their way! That said, though, I wish they'd throw all their resources at meeting the demand of 40m.

Another thought; since they said they're capable of multiple stations on one band -- They're in ITU Zone 2, so why not run NA simplex on SSB above 7150? Put one station up above 7250 for NA only (play dodge the broadcasters, of course), another around 7090 simplex for Europe and then the CW guys down at the bottom? Sounds like a better way to satisfy the demand on the hottest of bands.
