Hi, Does anyone know what type of antenna setup 9X0VB happens to be using and if so, what orientation it has to buildings etc.
I have been monitoring his signal for many hours on bands from 3.5 through 21mhz these last 7 days and his signal is virtually inaudible in VK3. This is strange as: (1) all of his other operations over the last 7 months have had quite reasonable signals into VK3 (2) compared with the 5Z4B beacon, which is quite close to 9X, the beacon can be S7-9 and his signal inaudible. The only frequency that he has had a half decent signal has been on 14mhz, long path (over USA) just after his local sunrise. When looking at a great circle map based on Kigali, VK Short Path is about 120 degrees, whereas most other DX areas, JA, EU NA and SA are in the range 45 through 360, 270 and 225 degrees.
