Saw where Ron notarius got his 15 meter DXCC. Thought I would share my experience on working CW DXCC. I was able to copy 20 wpm on paper in 1968 when I took my Extra and had to pass a 20 wpm sending test with a straight key, but gave up on CW after that.

I am in a similar position. Passed 20 wpm back in the day, but then dropped it without becoming proficient. Now, as I approach Phone Honor Roll, I am setting up a new challenge for myself. Once I make HR, I plan to drop phone and do it again on CW. It is either that or grow very old waiting to get them all on Phone.

When the time comes I am sure I will be really afraid of the super-fast ops (I prefer not to use a code reader), but I guess everyone has to go through that phase.
