There were Radio Blackouts posted on the VE7CC-1 cluster page. Solar flares, proton events, etc cause radio blackouts. This is a common problem in years with high sunspots numbers. I've seen all bands go dead during years with high sunspots numbers. These number also cause aurora. Yesterday 10m and 12m were basically dead here but I could not find anything indicating solar conditions that would cause it. Almost no EU stations and could barely hear TX7M! This morning I read that last night there was a spectacular Northern Lights display across Northern USA all the way down to Arkansas. Any correlation?
