11/12/2003:  Hrane, YT1AD and Boban, YZ1AU are QRV as T30M and T30Z,
respectively from the Gilbert Islands (OC-017), West Kiribati. Look for

12/12/2003:  Vlad, UA4WHX, will be QRV December 12th to 15th from Tubuai
(IOTA OC-152, DIFO FO-125), Austral Islands. QSL to home call. [Tnx

13/12/2003:  Look for Dov, 4Z4DX/m, and Eli, 4Z5NB, to be QRV December
13, 2003, from various grid squares in the south of Israel, in Beer
Sheva region, for the Holyland award. Activity will be all day, starting
at 04:30 UTC on 14.265 MHz. The following areas will be activated: H-26,
27. J-27, 28. K-28,29. J-29. K-30. J-30, 31, 32, 33. H-33, 32, 31, 30.
G-29. F-28. E-28, 27. F-27 ... as time will permits. QSL via 4Z4DX

13/12/2003:  Claude, F5MCC/p, will be QRV December 13th from the Gurgy
Castle (DFCF reference 89.250, for the French Castles Award) located in
Gurgy town, department of Yonne, province of Burgundy. The contacts
count also for the Canton of Seignelay (DDCF reference 89.28). Activity
will be on 40 meter SSB. QSL direct to home call, or via the French REF

13/12/2003:  The A.C.R.A Guadeloupe ARS will be QRV as TO7ACR on
December 13th and 14th from the islet of Gosier (IOTA NA-102, DIFO
FG-016, LH 0142, WAZ-08) and Lighthouse (WLHA LH-0142, ARLHS GUA-001.
Activity will be on 160 through 6 meter SSB and CW. QSL via operator's

15/12/2003:  Alan, 9V1DX (aka VK0LD and ex-VK0MM Macquarie Island 2000),
reports that he will be active from a temporary base camp in the remote
Ellsworth Mountains in the Antarctic interior (approx. 2000 km due South
of Peter First Island). He is there supporting a team of scientists and
mountainteers climbing Mt. Vinson (highest mountain in the Antartic)
from approx. December 15th to around January 10th (exact dates depend on
the weather for the long, non-commercial flight in and out). His old
callsign VP8PJ has been re-issued for life by the Falkland Islands
Govt., and he will use it exclusively on PSK-31. The Singapore licencing
authority has also issued him the special callsign 9V0A which he will
use for CW and SSB. Alan will be as active as his work schedule permits.

15/12/2003:  Mike, G4IUF, will be back to the Galapagos Islands (SA-004)
from December 15th until January 11th. He will operate as G4IUF/HC8 on
160 through 10 meter SSB and CW, with a better LF antenna if he can get

15/12/2003:  Look for Tony, PY8IT, to be QRV December 15th to 26th as

15/12/2003:  Special call ZW5SF will be aired on all HF bands from Sao
Francisco do Sul (SA-027) between December 15, 2003, and January 15,
2004, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of that

16/12/2003:  Vlad, UA4WHX, will be QRV December 16th to 23rd from
Maupiti (DIFP FO-008), Raiatea (DIFO FO-0012), and Bora Bora (DIFO
FO-003 (all IOTA OC-067), French Polynesia. QSL to home call. [Tnx

16/12/2003:  Setsu, JL1UXH (KK2H), and his wife Maki, 7L4FSR, will be
active again as KK2H/KH2 from Guam (OC-026) between December 16th and
23rd. Setsu will operate on all HF bands SSB and CW; he plans to
concentrate on working Europe and USA East Coast stations. QSL via

16/12/2003:  Steve, G0UIH, reports he will be active again as VK2IAY/4
from Lamb Island (OC-137) December 16th to 18th. QSL via G0UIH either

15/12/2003:  An international team of 20 well-known operators will be
active as T33C from Banaba Island (OC-018) during the first two weeks of
April, 2004. Six HF stations, three on CW and three on SSB, plus a
separate 6m station and separate HF digital mode station are planned,
with at least six high power amplifiers. They will be active from 160
through 6 meter CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK and some SSTV. If sufficient interest
in satellite contacts is generated, this may be added. QSL via F5CWU,
either direct (Flo Moudar, 25 Rue du Castel Salis, 37100 Tours, France)

17/12/2003:  Jose, ON4LAC, will be QRV as 3B8/ON4LAC from Mauritius
(AF-049) between December 17th and 27th. He plans to be QRV on SSB, RTTY

19/12/2003:  Bill, N4ZDL, will be active as 9Y4/N4ZDL from Tobago
(SA-009) between December 19th and 25th. He will operate on 10, 15, 20,
40 and 80 metres SSB and CW. QSL via home call, direct or bureau. [Tnx

20/12/2003:  Jim Buffington, K5JIM (ARLHS member #150), has announced
plans to activate two Louisiana lighthouses, both of them in the New
Orleans area, on the opening day of Lighthouse Christmas Lights. The
pair includes New Canal Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-536) and Port Ponchartrain
(ARLHS USA-650). These will mark the 13th and 14th activations of 2003
for Jim. Tentative time of operation for New Canal is 15:00 UTC on
Saturday, December 20 for two hours ... with the Port Ponchartrain
operation PROBABLY beginning at 18:00 UTC. Both lighthouses are on Lake
Ponchartrain. QSL cards will be available for an SASE via K5JIM's QRZ

20/12/2003:  Jim, K9BIG/p (ARLHS member #716), will be activating a few
lighthouses for the ARLHS Christmas Lights QSO party that runs from
December 20, 2002 to January 5, 2004. Look for Jim on 40 through 10
meters around 7.270, 14.270, 21.370, and 28.370 (+ or - depending on
QRM, nets, other activations etc.) He is also going to bring his
portable 6-meter beam just for fun. Jim plans to activate the following
lighthouses: December 20th from Kenosha Southport Light, Kenosha, WI
(ARLHS USA-912), December 21st from Kenosha Pierhead, Kenosha, WI (ARLHS
USA-416), January 3rd from Windpoint Light, Racine WI (ARLHS USA-894)
and January 4th from North Breakwater Racine, WI (ARLHS USA-682). QSL

20/12/2003:  Deacon Dave, W1MCE/m (ARLHS member #492), will be
activating Portsmouth Harbor New Hampshire (ARLHS USA-662, during
Lighthouse Christmas Lights. Date unknown but will be on 40 then 20
meters from the mobile. Total operating schedule is hoped to be 3 hours
each day on 2 different days. He has a 1 1/2 hour commute to get there.
All QSOs will be QSL'd automatically. Please don't send Deacon Dave any

23/12/2003:  Vlad, UA4WHX, will be QRV December 23rd to 25th from
Huahine Bui (IOTA OC-067, DIFO FO-004), French Polynesia. QSL to home

25/12/2003:  Look for Jo, DL1AB/p, to be QRV December 25, 2003, through
January 2, 2004, from Baltrum Island (IOTA EU-047, DID reference N-06
for the German Island Award). Activity will be on 80 and 40 meter SSB.

25/12/2003:  Mark, VK2GND, will be QRV December 25th to 31st as VK9LD
from Lord Howe (OC-004). Look for him on or around 14273 and 14195 kHz.

28/12/2003:  Ken, JA1CMD (N4XJ), will be QRV December 28th to January
2nd as VK9CA from Cocos-Keeling (OC-003). He will be active on 80

28/12/2003:  Pete, N2LM, will be active as ZF2PD on Grand Cayman Island
(NA-016) from December 28th through January 8th. Activity will be 80

30/12/2003:  K4MCE (Mark) and N4KZ (Dave) will operate the special
events station N4Z from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (IOTA NA-106),
between December 30th and January 5th. Their activity will be on 160-6

12/01/2004:  Marco, CE6TBN, plans to be active as CE6TBN/8 from Riesco
Island (IOTA SA-031, DICE ICE-804) January 12th through 15th and from
Wellington Island (IOTA SA-032, DICE ICE-802) January 17th through 20th.
Activity will be on 40, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meter SSB, with monoband
verticals antennas and TS-140. QSL via N1IBM (Morris E. Maze III, 847

15/04/2004:  Look for DL0IH to be QRV April 15th from Helgoland Duene
(IOTA EU-127, DID reference N-15 for the German Islands Award) and

Alex (RW3RN) is QSL-manager for C4M (CQ WW DX Contest 2003).
Alex (RW3RN) is now the new QSL-manager for R3ARC/1 (26-29.2000), R1NWS
(29-31.07.2000) for activity from Vorony Island and Nemetsky Kuzov
Island (both EU-147). He received the logs and about 2500 QSL's (bureau)
and 200 envelopes from the old QSL-manager.
