Sorry folks, meant to include this info from a previous mail from Vlad in my post yesterday, but due to very bad heart, the O2 upstair not too good. Would appreciate all your prayers. I am on the heart transplant list.
Vlad informed me that if you worked him from one of the locations where he was using his state-side call / portable with QSL route to TN that the cards from TN would definitely get to him but would take a bit longer than cards sent directly to his RU RAC address. If you worked Vlad from one of these locations and have not sent your card(s), I would recommend you send them to his RU RAC address and not the TN address as he will get them faster. Also, Vlad has a couple freinds working in the RU RAC address post office who are watching his mail like a hawk. He said that your IRC's, greenbacks, etc would be safe and get to him no prob without having to send registered mail. My letter with cards and greenbacks to help with his QSL costs made it to him in about 3 weeks regular mail. He has employed a full time assistant who is also a ham to open mail. This assistant is printing out the QSO data from computer and paper clipping to the return envelopes in preparation for pasting on QSL(s), and insertin in emveopes for mailing. The return envelopes are being sorted as to the destination. He is doing this to make it easier on the local post office. In corresponding with Vlad, this young man is well schooled, has a super command of the English language, and definitely knows what he is doing. So, don't think there will be any probs with QSL(s) making it to him and his QSL(s) making it to you. QSL info is a bit off topic for DX-News, but Vlad asked for the widest dissemination of this info, so I request a little moderation from the list moderator, and this will be the last time for a post on this subject. So, hopes this falls in line with DX admin and the new DX-News.
