Postponed last year due to unforeseen transportation difficulties, the  third
ever DXpedition  to  Peter  I  Island  is a  go  for  late  January  2005.  A
multi-national team of twenty operators will  be active (with 4-6 high  power
stations operating around the clock on 160-6 metres SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK 31)
as 3Y0X from 21 January to 4 February. The current list of operators includes
K0IR, K3NA, K4SV, K4UEE, F2JD, HB9AHL,  HB9BHW, LA6VM, NP4IW/6, N2WB,  N4GRN,
N6OX, UA3AB and W0RUN. Several invitations are pending that will complete the
team. A backup list  is also in  place and potential  team members who  might
want to go,  in the event  of a cancellation,  are invited  to contact  K4UEE
([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
This very expensive undertaking will be  70% funded by the team members,  and
additional financial  sponsors are  being sought.  Fundraising is  continuing
with the  addition  of  several  area  fundraisers:  W3WL  (North  and  South
America), JA1ELY (Asia), F2JD (Europe and  Africa) and ZL2AL (Pacific).  More

3D2_rot - Christian, 3D2EA expects to operate as 3D2EA/R from Rotuma (OC-060)
           for one or two weeks  starting around 26-27  July. QSL via  EB2AYV.

9A      - Aniko/HA5TAA and Feri/HA5AAZ  will operate as  9A/homecalls from  a
           few Croatian islands in the Dalmatia  South group (EU-016)  between
           19 July and  1 August. They  plan to be  active from Grbavac  (IOCA
           CI-171), Lukovnjak (IOCA CI-187) and Maslinovik (IOCA CI-193).  QSL

9A      - Feco, HA8KW will operate as 9A/HA8KW from Rab Island (EU-136,  IOCA
           CI-096) on  19-26  July, including  a  12-hour entry  in  the  IOTA

           (EU-016, IOCA CI-010, until 2 August)  and Pag (EU-170,  IOCA-082).

           between 29 July and 4 August. They will operate as C56BT and  C56WL

W       - Look for  Thomas, WA6WPG  to operate  as WA6WPG/P  from Santa  Rosa

           metres most of the four days  on the Island.  Before and after  the

W       - Ed, W4YO reports he will participate  in the IOTA Contest from  his
           home QTH on Harbor Island (NA-110).
W       - Steve, W3HF will be active as W3HF/4 from Bogue Banks (NA-112,  USI
           NC-010S) on 9-15  August. Operation will  be QRP on  40 through  15
           metres, Primary mode will be PSK, with some SSB (those who want  to
           schedule an  SSB  contact  can e-mail  Steve  before  the  trip  at

YJ      - Franz, DK1II  (ZL2III)  will be  active  from Port  Vila  (OC-035),

SCANDINAVIA TOUR ---> Maurice,  ON4BAM will be  visiting Sweden, Finland  and
Norway starting  on  17  July  and  will operate  SSB  and  possibly  PSK  as
SM/ON4BAM, OH/ON4BAM and  LA/ON4BAM. He also  plans to be  active from a  few
IOTA groups (EU-044, EU-046, EU-033, EU-076  and EU-062). From  28 July to  1
August he will be at Longyearbyen  (EU-026), Svalbard and  will be active  as

DXCC NEWS ---> The following operations  are approved for DXCC credit:  3DXQZ
(Republic of Guinea, 20-30 April 2004), 5V7AD (Togo, 12-22 June 2004),  HZ1AN
and HZ1IZ (Saudi  Arabia, all operations),  YA7X (Afghanistan,  from 1  March
through 30 April  2004), YI9MC (Iraq,  current operation  effective 23  March
2004).

HELP NEEDED ---> Ron, 4S7RO has a big  problem with his TS850 and would  like
to know if anyone can scan  the wiring circuit diagram  showing the RF  Board
X44-320-00 and its  parts placement and  send it by  email. He  has left  the

IA0PS  --->  The  Italian  Antarctic  station  "Baia  Terra  Nova"  (Northern
Foothills, Victoria Land, 74.41S-164.07E) has  been renamed "Mario  Zucchelli
Station". Born in 1944 and passed  away in 2003, Zucchelli was the  President
of the Consortium for the implementation of the Italian Research Programme in
Antarctica and leader of 17 Antarctic expeditions.

JAPAN DX MEETING ---> The Japan DX Meeting 2004 will be held on 21 August  at
Tokyo Bigsight, Tokyo, during the annual JARL's Ham Fair (21-22 August).  For

QSL 9K2USA ---> Raymond, W8CNL is  not the QSL manager for 9K2USA.  Actually,
in March 2003 Hamad, 9K2HN reported [425DXN 618] he had taken over the duties
of the former QSL manager (9K2RA). Apolgies for any inconvenience we may have
caused our readers.

QSL AY1ZA ---> The QSL cards, donated by 425 DX News and the Mediterraneo  DX
Club, have been printed  by IT9EJW, who  mailed them to  Henry, LU4DXU on  14
July.

QSL CO2TK ---> Pepin reports that effective 15 July, his new new QSL  manager
is F5CWU (Flo Moudar, 25 Rue du Castel Salis, 37100 Tours, France).

QSL CT9P  & CT9X  ---> QSLs  for these  two calls  [425DXN 679]  will not  be
printed until after the trip is complete.  The manager for both calls is  Kim
Larson, daughter of N3SL, via N3SL's CBA. Bureau cards will be honoured,  but

spots on the Cluster, the provisional number AS-171 was not issued  following
