Hi all,
Just a short note to all DXers, from the VK8
QSL bureau.
I am receiving some QSL cards confirming a QSO with
non amateur VK8 stations, and most of them on CW,
and all have prefixes of either VJ8, VL8, VM8
or VN8. All such prefixes belongs to commercial operators, such as
Maritime, Aeronautical, or other NON Amateur activity. If you
hear a callsign with such a prefix, they are an intruder and should be
treated as such.
To the best of my knowledge, all Amateur licenses
issued by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) has ONLY the Prefix
VK. Special event
stations are prefixed VI or AX.
The ACA web site is available at: http://www.aca.gov.au/pls/radcom/register_search.main_page ,
and follow the prompts.
