02/12/2004:  Steve, G0UIH, will be active until December 5th as 3D2FI
from Nacula Island (IOTA OC-156). QSL via G0UIH, direct or bureau. [Tnx

02/12/2004:  Ayumi, JH7BZR, reports that operator Hack - JL1EEE, Iku -
JL1WQO, Tad - JL1ANP and himself (JH7BZR) will be active from Taiwan
(IOTA AS-020) starting Thursday, December 2nd (Late Midnight) through
Monday, December 6th (Early Morning). Operators will sign BW2/JL1EEE,
BW2/JL1WQO, BW2/JL1ANP and BW2/JH7BZR. They may have two stations active
on 160-10 meters including the WARC bands. Suggested frequencies are:
CW - 1827.5 (listning up/down), 3505, 7005, 10135, 14030, 18090, 21030,
24915 and 28030 kHz; SSB - 3560, 7060, 14175, 18130, 21275, 24950 and
28475 kHz; RTTY - proper operating segments. The team will also take
part in the 2004 ARRL 160 Meter Contest. QSL via their home callsign;

02/12/2004:  Vassiliy, RW4NW, will be active until December 12th as
RW4NW/9 from the Polovinsky Area (RDA reference KN-17, for the Russian
Districts Award), Kurganskaya oblast (KN). QSL via home call, direct or

02/12/2004:  Mike - N9NS (VP2MNS), Pete - N0FW (VP2MW), Charlie - W6KK
(VP2MKK) and John - N7CQQ (requested call VP2MQQ) will be active
December 2-13th, on all bands, from Montserrat (IOTA NA-103). They will
participate in the ARRL 160 Meter CW Contest (December 3-5th) and in the
ARRL 10 Meter Contest (December 11-12th) as VP2MW. Information and

03/12/2004:  Look for IK4RUX, IK4JPR and his son Alberto, IK4GLV and
IZ4CCO to be active December 3-5th as IP1TI from Isola del Tino (IOTA
EU-083, IIA SP-002, WW Loc. JN44wa) and Faro San Venerio lighthouse (WLH
I-012, WLOTA LH-0645, ARLHS ITA-058). They hope to operate on several

03/12/2004:  David, VK2CZ, will be active from here as VK9XD between
December 3-12th, 2004. Activity will be on all bands plus include an
entry in the ARRL 10m DX Contest (December 11-12th) using a 7 element
monobander (at 330m ASL) with 400 watts. David makes the following
statement about his operation: "It is a long way off, and its a long way
there. 1st EVER activation in the ARRL 10m contest!!" [Tnx OPDX]

03/12/2004:  Members of the LABRE/RN will activate the Lighthouse
Gameleira, December 3-5th. They will use the callsign ZY7LH. Activity
will be on CW, SSB, PSK31 and RTTY. Bands were not mentioned. Reference
numbers are: DFB RN-05, ARLHS BRA-133 and WW Loc. HI24GS. QSL via PS7AA:

04/12/2004:  Francois, F5JNE and Gerard, F6ICG, will be QRV December 4th
as F5JNE/p from the Castle of Lantilly (DFCF reference 58065 for the
French Castles Award), in the city of Cervon (Canton of Corbigny DDCF
5806, Zip code 58800 for Ten Millions award, Department Nievre/58,
Province of Burgundy). Activity will begin around 07:30 UTC on 40 meter
CW and SSB. QSL via F5JNE, direct or through the REF bureau. SWL cards

04/12/2004:  Baldur, DJ6SI, will be active December 4-12th as TN6X from
the Congo. He plans to operate on 160 through 10 meter, CW only. QSL via

05/12/2004:  Franco, IK4DCS/p, will be active December 5th from 3
references for the Italian Castles Award (D.C.I.), weather permitting.
He will try to activate the Castle of Stellata (DCI FE-016), the Tower
Pepoli of Stellata (DCI FE-025) and the Towers of Stellata (DCI FE-031).
Activity will be on 40 and 20 meter SSB. QSL via home call, direct or

05/12/2004:  Look for IZ8FEN/p, IK8TLX/p, IK8XIR/p, IW8DGS/p, IW8DQY/p
and IW8BZ/p to be QRV December 5th from the Castel Sant'Elmo di Napoli
(DCI reference NA-035 for the Italian Castles Award, reference F839 for
the ITA Award, WW Loc. JN70CU). Activity will start 09:00 UTC on 40, 20,
6 and 2 meter SSB, CW and FM. QSL is ok via bureau to everyone + if you
want with a charge of about 15 EURO as imboursement fees, it is possible
to get a special wood crest of Castel Sant'Elmo home made, cash n
delivery. You can see the crest also on the website
www.rblob.com/hamradio/selmo/selmo.htm . On the back of the crest it
will be written the qso data. Crest must be requested within 15 January
2005. Requests ust be sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and must contain 1) qso
data, 2) ailing address of purchaser, 3) statement that the parcel will

07/12/2004:  Rene, DL2JRM, will be active as YA7X from Afghanistan

08/12/2004:  Fred WW4LL and John K4BAI will be active as PJ4Z during the
ARRL 10 Meter Contest (December 11-12th). They will be active as
PJ4/WW4LL and PJ4/K4BAI on both SSB and CW beginning December 8th

10/12/2004:  TARG (Thessaloniki Amateur Radio Group) will be QRV
December 10th and 11th as SX2LH from the Lighthouse of Megalou Emvolou
of Thessaloniki area (ARLHS reference GRE-096). Activity will be from
06:00 UTC Friday morning until 18:00 UTC Saturday afternoon. Look for

SPECIAL EVENTS -

01/12/2004:  To commemorate the day of the handicapped, the special call
9K2WDD will be activated from Kuwait between December 1-4th. This in
collaboration with the sporting club of the handicapped people. QSL via

04/12/2004:  The Historical Electronics Museum Amateur Radio Club will
be commemorating Pearl Harbour Day from December 4th to the 7th using
the call sign W2W. Operation will be in the General class segments of
all of the high frequency bands. A certificate is available for large
SASE and a QSL card may be requested by writting to HEMARC-W2W, PO Box

07/12/2004:  The U.S.S. Kidd Amateur Radio Club, W5KID, down in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana will be commemorating Pearl Harbour Day on December
7th. Look for this operation mainly SSB on 20 meters from 14.250 to
14.320 MHz and CW near the popular QRP calling frequencies on 40 through

16/12/2004:  The Anaheim California Police Amateur Radio Club will
sponsor special event station K6B. This, to commemorate the 60th
anniversary of the famed Battle of the Bulge that took place during
World War II. Operation will be on 40 through 15 meters from December
