I received some more information on the current VU4 DXpedition. A
spokesman from the NAIR reports the VU4NRO station has worked about
200 US stations last night on 20 meters. They hope to make more QSOs
with the US in the coming days. Yesterday there were reports of CW
activity on both 20 meters and 40 meters. "So far there has been NO
CW operation by our VU4 operators so far. The CW QSOs reported were
by pirates. CW will start later." We have a correction to the first
worked stations. They were (in order) VU2MY, VU2NRO/JOS, VU2MYL and
then PY7ZZ. Also the local weather was not 42 C but rather 24 C.
You
can keep an eye on their local weather conditions by visiting
http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/INXX0179_f.html.
The following frequencies may be used as a guide for the VU4
stations:
7045, 7060
14190, 14208, 14255, 14265
18101
21241, 21260
28500, 28550
OK so that is all for the moment. If I get any updates I will post
them. If you have any information first hand (not a rumor or heard
from your friend) please feel free to pass that on.
Oh one last thought for those who need it, especially those of you in
DX clubs. It might be a good idea to have some of your buddies call
each other on the phone if your area gets an opening. In other words
spilt up the listening and if someone hears them working your area
call your buds on the phone to alert them! Otherwise I am afraid
some
of you might not eat, sleep or other things than have to been done!
HI. Hang in their guys.
