VU4NRO has been activating 80M beginning about an hour before their SR (2300Z) followed by 40M at their sunrise and then 20M after their sunrise.
These times have not been good for stations East of the Mississippi except for a brief (unusual) peak around 2330Z on 80M (559), which is actually the First and BEST I have heard them on ANY band from North Alabama.
The usual PEAK times on 80, 40, and 30 Meters follow the SUNSET line across North America beginning at 2100Z until 2400Z. I have worked many of my Low Band SE Asians (VK9C, VK9X, XZ, 9M2, 9V) around my sunset with peaks lasting 5 to 15 minutes on 80M and an hour or so on 40M.
Following the SUNRISE across North America (1100 to 1600Z) is also often productive, expecially if the SW SKEW Path is present. VU4GDG had a HUGE 80M skew path signal one morning in October of 1987 (and a 5 minute 160M opening in the CQ WW SSB DX Contest when he called me for my most memorable DX QSO ever !)
With the LOW SUNSPOT Activity we are currently experiencing, 40 and 30 Meters most likely offer the BEST Propagation from VU4 to W1,2,3,4,5,8,9,0 at BOTH our (USA) SUNSET and SUNRISE.
Hopefully K4VUD or one of the VU4 operators will see this propagation information and arrange their schedule to increase their coverage to North America east of the Rocky Mountains.
