Note to all. Again sorry to start all the furor but LOTW is DX related. It costs me $.80 U.S. plus 2 greenstamps to send a QSL to most of the world. IRCs in the U.S. are $2.75 each. In some countries the postal employees are not all that honest. Also, some hams as well. Once I get the card I have to send it to Newington or have it checked by an authorized checker. LOTW is a pain to load up, but so are a lot of programs. Some ops in the U.S. won't even respond to a S.A.S.E. Others take the stamps off to use for other things. CW WAS and RTTY WAS were both a pain for that reason. My thanks go to anybody or any group that will make my job of DXing and QSLing easier. That goes for the this group in particular!
I have been a ham since 1951 and believe me DXing is simple today compared to then. I see LOTW, or something like it, as the coming thing and am trying, at almost age 70 to get with the program. To me this is cheap, fast and accurate plus a good exercise for an aging brain.
73 and gud DX
