27/01/2005: A Cuban ham radio group will be QRV January 27-31st from Cayo Jutia Island (IOTA NA-093), Los Colorados, Pinar del Rio Province. The team members and QSL routes are as follows: Lazaro CO2WL/p (QSL via EA3ESZ), Jorge CO3LF/p (QSL via IZ8EBI - P.O. Box 364, 87100 Cosenza - ITALY), Jorge O3JN/p (QSL via IZ8EBI), Juan CO3CJ/p (QSL via IZ8EBI) and Gamboa CO3VK/p (QSL via IZ8EBI). Activity will be on SSB and PSK31, using their personal calls. All operators will use their own igs and the antennas will be wire based. There are no facilities on this wild island and the operators will not be accomodated in any type of resort. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW. ===================================================== LOOKING AHEAD - 24/07/2005: On Friday July 22 through Sunday July 24th the Michigan DX Association (W8DXI) will activate South Manitou (USI MI-038L) and North Manitou (USI MI-037L) Islands in Lake Michigan, Leelanau county, Michigan. This will be their 12th Island activation and by far the most Islands activated by a Michigan club. The activation of these Islands will coincide with the clubs very own Great Lakes Sweepstakes on the same weekend. They will also activate the South Manitou Lighthouse (ARLHS reference USA-470).
