24/02/2005: Bill, NE1B (C6AWB), and Tom, C6ANM, will operate from the islands of Eleuthera (NA-001) and New Providence (NA-001), Bahamas between February 24th and March 8th. March 1-3rd they will make a side trip to the Berry Islands (NA-054). They plan to participate in the 160 CQ WW SSB and the ARRL SSB DX contests. QSL for both via WA2IYO. He is hoping to get the call ZD8AD (after his initials) whilst on Ascension, and although operating hours will be limited to a couple in the evenings week-days, the weekends are a whole different matter. He is also hoping to take the new FT-897D /portable up a mountain on the island with the G5RV for some real fun. As Andy will only be running 100 watts at best on HF and 50 MHz, you'll have to keep your ears pinned well back for him. They are landing in Windhoek on February 25th. The same day the will be in their QTH (Farm Heimat) located about 130 kilometers from the capital city. Farm Heimat is a HAM friendly location (http://www.natron.net/tour/heimat/index.html). They already have their licenses and the call-signs will be V5/SP6IXF and V5/SP7VC. On February 25th Janusz and Przemek are going to install 160m antennas and start to operate in the CQ WW 160m SSB the next day. They will have three beverages (for EU, USA and JA) for the top band. They will also participate ARRL DX SSB the next weekend. They will have FT-890, TS-50, IC-706MKIIG and TS-2000, 3el Mosley for 20/15/10 meters, 2el for 17/12 meters and wire antennas for other bands.
