Hi, Stephen and all !
The timing of your email could not be more on the dot -or on the dash, for that matter- ! I am also in the "receving end" of qrz.com, but with a dash more aggravation.
To summarise :
My listing, HS0/EA4BKA, has been in qrz.com database for years. Recently, during a QSO with EA8TH, he observed that he could not find me in qrz.com. I checked myself and, sure enough, my listing was gone.
I emailed [EMAIL PROTECTED], who replied : "HS0EA4BKA is not a valid callsign". To which I agree, as he had forgotten the vital slash ("/") !
I reiterated my point and offered to mail or fax copy of my Thai license (HS0/EA4BKA), issued by the Post and Telegraph Department of Thailand, only licensing authority here.
He replied :
Quote : Any "/" in a call sign is not issued by any authority. It is just an indicator that a station is not operating from its licensed location but is in another location.
Anyone with any common sense would hear, HS0/EA4BKA, would know the operators call sign is EA8BKA Unquote
Since I perceived fighting a losing war, as he has the control of qrz.com database, not me, I re-registered as EA4BKA only, with explanations in the biodata section about my "real" operating callsign, HS0/EA4BKA. The registration was listed.
Then, when I received their computer generated email asking me to validate my account, I run into the same problems as you did : "Error" after "Error" after "Error". I tried to validate with the full address and also with the short address and manually inserting of the Unique Number and the email address. "Error" always !
Thrice, I have requested the "editor"'s assistance in solving the problem. No reply, of course...In the meantime, my "new" registration will expire within 30 days, unless validated ! Which it is impossible to do !! Catch 22 ? Sounds like it !
I though those guys run a tight ship. After this frustrating experience, I don't think so anymore ! Do you think "they are losing it"...?
For the sake of complete info, I am enclosing herebelow the mails exchanged. Maybe someone can read between the lines !
Good luck !
73, Eddy HS0/EA4BKA

Enclosed two mails, sent to you on 04 and 08 April, to which I have not received any reply.
I have again tried to register my account, but now the system rejects the operation, showing "ikonboard CGI error. Can't call method query_count without a package or object reference. Error reported at /c/www/ib-bin/Sources/Lib/FUNC..pm line 910".
Once again, I am requesting your help in registering my account in qrz.com. Nothing else I can do from my side.
If you do not wish to have my listing, I would appreciate your confirmation.

Subject: Fw: EA4BKA CALLSIGN - UNABLE TO REGISTER ACCOUNT
Since I sent you the enclosed mail on 04 April, I have been trying several times a day to register my account, both manually and automatic. Also from two different email addresses.
Same result : Not registered !
Could you please let me know what to do ?
Many thanks,

Subject: EA4BKA CALLSIGN - UNABLE TO REGISTER ACCOUNT
With reference to your email of Friday 01 April 2005, 06:18 AM, Subject : Registration at QRZ Forum.
Please note that I have tried to register going directly to the indicated link and also trying the "manual" option. I keep on receiving the same messaje: " An error occured, not all of the required fields were sent from the validation link. ETC ETC. Please try again."
I have tried several times, making sure that all the fields from the validation link are inserted and I keep on receiving the above reply, NOT registered.
What else can I do ?

Most surprised by your reply ! My callsign is HS0/EA4BKA and so has been for the past 10 years. HS0EA4BKA was the password I used in qrz.com when my listing was available, as the system does not accept the slash (/). Did you check my former listing in the caches of your database ? Where can I fax you copy of my license, issued by Post and Telegraph Department of Thailand (as HS0/EA4BKA), as well as of my Spanish license ? I trust to will take care of this matter, which may cause me prejudice. And that will no be acceptable. Awaiting your news.

Subject: [DX-NEWS] QRZ help?
Hello all, I'm a little mystified. I recently moved to Florida, and a couple weeks ago tried going to QRZ.com to update my mailing address. I couldn't do anything without signing up, so I did that. I got an e-mail then, which I needed to click on to finish the process. All I get is errors when I try to finish it using this link. So I tried emailing the QRZ help e-mail address. No response, so I've tried again and again, about a half-dozen times the past week and a half. I am yet to hear anything from them. My laptop passed their cookie test, so that shouldn't be a problem. Is QRZ no longer operational, going under, or having some kind of problem? Is there any way to contact them? I know in the past lot of dx'ers have used them, I was hoping someone in the group might know what is going on. I've run out of options. Thank you.
