Unfortunately, as long as the Orlando Hamcation stays in the
Orange County Fairgrounds and the Orlando Radio Club (Sponsor)
lacks the vision to promote forums equivalent to those at
Dayton, the Orlando event will never reach the critical mass
necessary to be a major league event.

The Orlando event needs to be moved to a larger, higher quality
facility (perhaps the Orange County Convention Center) in a
better part of the area. The event needs a wider variety of
activities (forums), they need to be better planned and promoted.
The event needs to be closer to higher class hotels (a Crowne
Plaza equivalent) to encourage the after hours socialization
that marks Dayton.

If the organizers would like to work out transportation for
families to the various attractions in the area, so much the
better.

Still, there are far more amateurs within an eight hour drive
of Dayton than an eight hour drive of Orlando. Given the
relatively high cost of travel, that is still an advantage for
Dayton.
