25/08/2005:  Look for Jean Pierre F6FNA/p to be QRV August 25th, in the
morning (08:00z), from the Sannois Castle (DFCF reference 77-094). In
the afternoon, Jean Pierre will activate the Etry Castle (DFCF 77-095).
Activity will be on 40 and 20 meters, propagation permitting. QSL via

25/08/2005:  Peter, GM3OFT, plans to operate as GM3OFT/P on 80-15 meters
from a few Scottish islands as follows: August 25-26th Eileen Horrisdale
(IOSA CN-27, SCOTIA SC-12); August 26-27th Longa (IOTA EU-123, IOSA
CN-28, SCOTIA SC-13); August 27-28th Gruinard (IOTA EU-123, IOSA CN-30,
SCOTIA SC-09); August 28-29th Isle Martin (IOSA CN-31, SCOTIA SC-14);
August 29-30th Isle of Ewe (IOSA CN-29, SCOTIA SC-29); and August
30-31st Ristol (IOSA CN-34, SCOTIA SC-20). In general he expects to be
QRV mid or late afternoon of day 1 and QRT late morning or early

25/08/2005:  Howard, G6LVB, will be travelling to Svalbard (JW, IOTA
EU-026), current plans August 26-28th, to do some minor upgrades to a
satellite station at: http://www.svalsat.com. He is intending to take
some LEO satellite gear with him, so if you'd like to add JW to your
DXCC list let him know at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Howard states,
"Despite its northerly location, it has coverage to Canada and the North
Eastern U.S. as well as Japan. I will definitely be active on AO-51,
SO-50, AO-27, PO-28 (let's hope) and if I have room for SSB equipment I
will operate FO-29, VO-52 and possibly AO-7. The ISS never travels far
enough North for me to take a shot at it. There are no plans to take any

25/08/2005:  Ten Swedish amateurs from SM0/5-area will be active on
Aland Island (OH0, IOTA EU-002) August 25-28th as OH0/homecalls. All
bands from 160m up to 6 meters will be activated with CW, SSB, digital
modes as well as some experiments on 6m WSJT, with emphasis on WSJT for
EME. The team will consist of: Jonas/SM5HJZ, Ingemar/SM5AJV,
Anders/SM0HPL, Peder/SM0GNS, Magnus/SM0NJO, Erik/SM0EEH, Olle/SM0IEA,

25/08/2005:  Martti, OH2BH (T88BH) and Tim, N4GN (T88GG) at it again!
Tim, N4GN and Martti, OH2BH have decided to put two T88 signals on the
air at the same time; T88GG mostly on CW and digital modes and T88BH on
SSB. The activity begins on August 25th and continues until September
5th, including the All Asian DX Contest during the first weekend of
September. QSL cards featuring this newly independent Republic of Palau
can be obtained via Jarmo Jaakola, OH2BN (Kiiletie 5 C 30, Helsinki
FIN-00710, Finland). This DXpedition is supported by Vertex Standard
(Yaesu) both in radio and manpower terms. Yuichi, JN1WTK/T88YK will be
on the team to make sure that you can hear the cleanest audio on the
bands from the latest lineup of state-of-the-art Yaesu gear. But not
around the clock as ladies are involved, too--Joana and Leena,
OH2BE/T88BE expect to establish a reasonable routine between radio and
beach time while still guaranteeing that peak hours in both activities
will not overlap as the path can be critical during these days of low

26/08/2005:  The Barry Amateur Radio Society will be QRV August 26-30th
as GB5FI from Flatholm Island (EU-124). Activity will be on all bands,

26/08/2005:  Members of the Pyongtaek DX Club (D90HE) will be active
from Saok Island AS-060 (KDN H32) August 26-28th. Operators mentioned

26/08/2005:  After the successful 2003 event, the Singapore Amateur
Radio Transmitting Society (www.sarts.org.sg) will organize another
local field day to be held August 26-29th on St. John's Island (AS-019).
A fairly large group of local operators will be active as S61FD with 2-3
stations on 40-15 metres all modes. If time and available hardware
permits they will also try 80 and maybe 160 metres. QSL via PA0KHS,

26/08/2005:  Alex RN1NA, Oleg RK3FA, Alek RA4HTX and Igor RZ4HF will be
QRV August 26-28th as UE1NLO. They plan to activate some new islands in
Ladoga Lake for the Russian Robinson Award (RRA RR-19-13 and RR-19-14,

27/08/2005:  Look for 4X0AI to be active August 27th starting around
15:00 UTC to 15:00 UTC August 28th from Akhziv Island (IOTA AS-100).

27/08/2005:  Roger, ON4TX, will be QRV as 9A/ON4TX from Prezba Island

27/08/2005:  W1AA will activate Dumpling Rocks Lighthouse [Historic]
(ARLHS USA-247, WLOTA 0531) on Saturday August 27, 2005, from 11:00 UTC
(7:00 AM EDT) until 19:00 UTC (3:00 PM EDT). Operation will on 40 and 20
meters CW and SSB. CW - 7035.0 14035.0 kHZ, SSB - 7270.0 14270.0 kHz.
Frequencies are plus or minus QRM. CW will be on the half hour. We have
a packet station in the truck and will attempt to spot ourselves on the
worldwide DX packet cluster so watch for the W1AA spots. DX QSLs are via
the W1 bureau and stateside are via W1AA please with an  SASE. A photo
rendering QSL of the light will be furnished. Operators will be Don N1DT
ARLHS member #963 and Whitey K1VV ARLHS member #957. We believe that
this is the first time that this historic light has been activated. [Tnx

28/08/2005:  Ely, IN3VZE, will be active as 7Q7CE from the southwest
shore of Lake Malawi, "Club Makokola", between August 28th and September
16th. Activity will be limited because this is a DX holiday style

30/08/2005:  Vince, IZ0FKE, plans to be QRV August 30 to September 2,

01/09/2005:  Dov 4Z4DX/p and Alex 4Z5KJ/p and group will be active from
Akhziv Island (IOTA AS-100) during the month of September. Further

01/09/2005:  Paul, WN6K, and Juan, W6NOW, will be going to Panama. They
leave San Diego August 31st and will arrive there the same day but in
the evening. After some rest they should be heading up the coast about
an hour from Panama Thursday, September 1st. They will be staying at a
place on the Pacific Ocean side on the beach. Their intention is to
primarily set up a station there to work the All Asian SSB test that
weekend. If things get setup quickly however, they should have G5RVs and
other wires up well before the contest period. After the AA test, we
will be doing some visiting with locals but should have some time to
check out 160-10 propagation allowing. W6NOW is from Panama but is a new
US Ham so his experience is limited. This is my first time operating out
of the US so we are testing the waters but I have a number of years
experience at low power contesting. So simply put WN6K and W6NOW will be
operating while on vacation as HP1/WN6K from September 1-13th. The will
try 160-10m, with an emphasis on WARC CW bands. Watch the clusters. QSL

26/09/2005:  Ado, W4ADO made two-years contract with Doctors Without
Borders - Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF-USA) for work (technical
support) in The Republic of the Sudan. He will arrive in Sudan on 26th
September 2005 and will try to get amateur radio licence. In the
positive case Ado will work on the radio (SSB and CW) from time to time.
He says "My first goal is to help people in Sudan and after that work on

15/10/2005:  Tom, DL4VM, plans to be active from Fanoe Island (IOTA
EU-125, DIA NS-002 for the Danish Islands Award) October 15-31st. He

01/11/2005:  We now have more details on the Korea DX Club (KDXC)
DXpedition later this year to the Solomon Islands (H44) and Temotu
Province (H40). In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Korea
Amateur Radio League (KARL) team members from KDXC will be active from
the Solomon Islands (IOTA OC-047) as H44HL and then Nendo Island (IOTA
OC-100) as H40HL for about 7 days. Activity will be on 160 through 6
meters on CW, SSB, RTTY and other digital modes. Team members will
include Choi HL5FUA, Kang DS2AGH, Lee DS2BGV, Yoon 6K2AVL, Yoo 6K2DJM
and Scott N1PW (ex HL1PW). Equipment will include two IC-775DSP,
FT-1000MP, FT-MARK-5, IC-765, and two IC-706. They expect to have 6
amps, which will be powered by multiply generators. A web page is being

25/08/2005:  Special event station DR30RADIO of the district
Wuerttemberg will be active until May 31st, 2006. This station
celebrates the 30 year jubilee of the Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen and
has the sonder-DOK "30HR" until December 31, 2005, afterwards the
sonder-DOK "DVP" will be used. Activity will be on all bands and modes
of operation except echo link and packet radio. The station is on air
during the period between June 2nd, 2005 and May 31st, 2006. QSL via the
