[Tnx F5NQL] 10/10/2005: Kevin Haworth, M0TNX, and Keith Radford, G3SZU, are planning to activate an extremely rare Worked All Britain square - SD35 - near the village of Knott End On Sea in Lancashire on 10 October this year. They believe that this will be only the third time that the square has been activated. The reason the square is so rarely activated is that it lies within Morecambe Bay and is therefore under water for much of the year. Kevin and Keith plan to be active from the square from 14:00 to 21:00 UTC on the 20/40/80/160m bands on both phone and CW. The island is on USI list with a preliminary number, but has not yet been activated. It is located at Lake Havasu, Colorado River, Mohave county, Arizona. So, Ralph will be using AZ-NEW during QSO Party. QSL cards will be sent to all contacts within 30 days of Party. Activity will be mainly 20 meters, but will also be on other bands if 20 meters dies or dries up. Participation is open to licenced amateurs and SWLs throughout the world. In order to get the certificate, participants will have to contact the countries (DXCC Entities) that hosted the past editions of the Olympic Winter Games as well as the special event callsigns aired by the various ARI branches in the province of Torino. Contacts must be made between 10 October 2005 and 26 February 2006. Fifteen special callsigns representing the fifteen disciplines on the programme of the Olympic Winter Games will be aired by the the various ARI branches in the province of Torino in accordance with the following "approach march" schedule: October 10 - November 9, 2005 IO1ALP, IO1BIA, IO1BOB, IO1CRO and IO1CUR; November 10 - December 9, 2005 IO1FRE, IO1FSK, IO1HOC, IO1JUM and IO1LUG; December 10, 2005 - January 9, 2006 IO1NOR, IO1SHO, IO1SKE, IO1SNO and IO1SPE; January 10 - February 9, 2006 all of the previous calls.
