HI there,

All fine down here in Antarctica. Nice place and hard work to do. If there is no window only have -10°Celsius, which is not a problem. We have just installed a repeater on the top of an extinguished volcano and over there, I did experience -30°C. Low humidity level, and a bright sun shine today. On the HF Ham radio wise, the Antarctic winter did damage our antennas very badly. We are now almost complete to repair the ones for our Base logistic communications. I did try with a wire antenna and 400 Watts to listen on the scheduled frequency. I have not been able to do any contacts, even though I was clearly copying several EU stations, but nobody was hearing my calls. In the next days, I will continue to work on the rombic, in order to complete its maintenance and be able to come up shortly., No hurry anyway , I have plentry of time as I will be here till the end of February 2006

Greetings from the ice
