[Tnx SOTA U.K.] 01/12/2005: SICILY CASTLES EXPEDITION December 1st - 4th, 2005. On December 1st starts a castle expedition in Sicily. Purpose is to activate D.C.I. references in all Sicilian provinces on 40 and 20 meters, possibly 80 meters too. If all goes well the program is: December 1st, starting about 09:00 UTC, from Palermo (PA), Messina (ME) and Catania (CT); December 2nd from Siracusa (SR), Ragusa (RG), Caltanissetta (CL) and Agrigento (AG); December 3rd from Enna (EN) and Caltanissetta (CL); December 4th from Sciacca (Agrigento province, district 202, for the Italian districts by castles award) and TRAPANI (TP). The operators will be Gianfranco IT9/I6DHY/p and Piero IT9/I1ASU/p. Activity will be on 40 and 20 meters, simultaneously, using Dunestar filters provided by Rblob Radio Group, late afternoon they will switch to 80 meters. [Tnx JI6KVR] 03/12/2005: As part of the LLDXT Surinam activity we are happy to announce we have arranged transportation and permission to land on the rare IOTA island 'Papegaaien eiland' (Parrot Island). This will be the second time that SA-092 will be activated. The activity will take place December 3rd and 4th. The call PZ5C/P will be used. The team members are Rob PA2R, Ronald PA3EWP and Ramon PZ5RA. Two 100 watt SSB and CW stations and monoband verticals for 15, 17 and 20 meter will be used above salt water. The Dead Sea is 411 meters deep at its deepest point, hence the special call issued to this operation.
