I've been keeping an eye on TS Paul and got this e-mail back just now
from Jeff Masters, Chief Meteorologist at Weather Underground
(tropical specialist):
Paul will pass very close to the island. My guess is it will pass 50
miles to the east, meaning that the strongest winds of the right front
quadrant will miss Socorro. Figure on winds of 50 mph gusting to 80 mph in
the island when Paul makes its closest approach at 5am PDT Monday.
Hope they have the guy wires nice and tight!
