28/01/2009:  Gildas, TU5KG is back to the Southern Indian Ocean on a fishing 
boat. Between January 28th and March 7th he will be sailing in the Crozet area. 
There is the possibility he might land on Crozet; watch the clusters. Between 
March 10th and April 15th he will be sailing in the Kerguelen area and may be 
active from Port aux Francais on March 7th. A stop at the beginning of March is 
necessary before the return. When on land he expects to operate as FT5XS from 
Kerguelen and as FT5WP from Crozet or as maritime mobile. QSL via F4EFI via REF

29/01/2009:  Bill, KC4USV is operating from McMurdo Base (WAP USA-22, WABA 
K-09, IOTA AN-011) for the entire summer season (January - March). Bob K4MZU 
has set a sked for Europeans for Sunday January 31st and Sunday February 1st at 
1700z and 1800z on 14243.0 kHz. QSL via K1IED. [I1HYW]

30/01/2009:  Rachid 3B8FQ, expects to activate St. Brandon Island (AF-015) for 
almost two weeks from January 30th to February 12th. The callsign will be 
3B7FQ. This will primarily be a working trip for maintenance on the 
meteorological station on St. Brandon, with on-air operations as time allows. 
Rachid expects the 30, 20 and 17 meter bands to be the most productive, but 
will try all bands 80-10m, using CW and SSB. On CW, look for Rachid near the 
bottom of the band, "on the 8's" such as 10.108, 14.008, and 18.078 MHz. He 
will be using 100W and a G5RV. Plans are to be QRV later in the year as 3B9FQ 
from Rodriguez Island (AF-017, WLOTA LH-4265) while on holiday, in July. QSL

31/01/2009:  Ghis, ON5NT will be active holiday-style from the Falkland Islands 
(SA-002) between January 31st and February 7th. He will be mostly active during 
his evening hours on 30 and 40m CW, running 100 Watts. QSL via ON5NT. [F6AJA]

01/02/2009:  Gerhard, OE3GEA will be active as FR/OE3GEA from Reunion Island 
(AF-016, DIFO FR-001, WLOTA LH-1812) between February 1st and 13th. QRV all

01/02/2009:  Lars, MM0DWF (DL9LB) will return to Husvik, South Georgia (AN-007) 
during the month of February, and expects to operate again as VP8DIF during his 
limited spare time. He will have a new soundcard interface, so he might try

03/02/2009:  Sigi, DL7DF and his XYL Sabine will be on holiday in Zanzibar 
(AF-032, also count for WLOTA LH-1080) from February 3-13th. QRV as 5H1DF on 
160-10 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and SSTV as often as possible. Equipment 
consists of a transceiver, a linear TY900, a 18m Lowband Vertical, a Vertical 
R7 as well as a laptop computer. The QSL-Route is via DL7DF either direct (Sigi 
Presch, Wilhelmsmuehlenweg 123, D-12621 Berlin, Germany) or via the German DARC

04/02/2009:  The "Buddies in the Caribbean" DX group which specializes in 100 
watt or low power radios and the Buddipole portable antenna system is off again 
to a new DXpedition site February 4-11th. This time the group will be operating 
at different times from BOTH the French (WLOTA LH-0383) and Dutch side of St. 
Martin Island FS/PJ7 (NA-105). Various modes including phone, RTTY, and CW will 
be on the air, along with "golf cart mobile", or "bicycle mobile" operations 
and other unique operational situations. Each of the operators has extensive 
experience operating from "unique" locations or various DXCC entities. The 
DXpedition headquarters will be at Villa Ait Na Greine on the French side of 
the island. The heaquarters (villaaitnagreine.com/) is perched on top of a 
cliff overlooking the Caribbean with excellent take off angles toward North 
America and Europe. There will be other sites on the island, both on the French 
and Dutch sides, where operations will occur giving DXers a chance to work two 
separate DXCC countries. The group's goal will be to work stations from all 
over the world using Buddipole antennas and other newly-developed Buddipole 
antenna accessory products. Operators will be using FS/homecall and 
PJ7/homecall and plans call for contacts to be uploaded to LoTW, eQSL, and an 
on-line log. Those wanting hard copy QSLs should send a S.A.E. and appropriate 
return postage or an SASE to the homecalls of the operator(s) you've worked.

. The group consists of the following operators: Mike/KC4VG, Guy/N7UN, 
Weymouth/K8EAB, Paul/KB9AVO, Tom/WW5L, Steve/N0TU, Budd/W3FF and Chris/W6HFP. 
The group expects to operate dipoles in various configurations, verticals, 
vertical beams, mini-yagis, and other antennas using only Buddipole parts.

08/02/2009:  Members of the Algarve S.T.A.R. team, namely Moreira/CT1AHU 
(PT7ZT), Jose/CT1EHX, Toze/CT1GFK, Goncalo/CT1GPQ, Miguel/CT1IUA and Rui/CT2IHP 
will be active February 8th (all morning) as CQ1A from Nossa Senhora do Rosário 
Island (DIP AL-19, for the Portuguese Islands Award). If the weather is bad, 
they will go to Armona Island (AL-04) February 7th, starting 1800 UTC. QRV with 
2 stations, 40 and 20m (30 and 17 possible with a 3rd station), using SSB and

11/02/2009:  John, K3TEJ will be active from the island of Dominica (NA-101) 
from February 11-27th, including a Single-Op/All-Band entry in the CQWW WPX 
RTTY Contest (February 14-15th) and ARRL DX CW Contest (February 21-22nd) using 
the callsign J7N. Outside of the contest he will focus on 160m and WARC bands,

13/02/2009:  Iiario, IV3CGJ will be active from Marie Galante Island (NA-102, 
DIFO FG-008, WLOTA LH-4241), Guadeloupe, as FB/IV3CGJ/p from February 13-24th.

14/02/2009:  Rene, DL2JRM plans to be active from Schouwen Duiveland (EU-146) 
as PA/DL2JRM/p on February 14th and 15th. QRV 80m-10m CW. QSL via home call,

23/02/2009:  Look for Rene, DL2JRM to be active from Kekova Island (AS-115), 
Turkey, as TA0/DL2JRM/p from February 23-25th. QRV 40m-10m CW. QSL via home

06/03/2009:  A team of nine ZL operators will be activating Chatham Island 
(OC-038) from March 6-11th. The team leaders are Lee/ZL2AL and Morrie/ZL2AAA, 
The rest of the team will be Lee/ZL2LE, John/ZL1BYZ, Mike/ZL2CC, Phil/ZL2RVW, 
Mark/ZL3AB, Wayne/ZL2WG and John/ZL1ALZ. The Pilot will be Duncan ZL3JT in 
Christchurch [email protected] . The team will be hosted at the Chatham 
Fishing Lodge in the fishing village of Kaiangaroa on the north eastern tip of 
the Chatham Islands. The ICOM four station setup with amplifiers will operate 
160-10m with CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK modes. Wire loops will be used on 80m and 
40m, a vertical on 30m and Yagis on 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10m. We also will try 
160m alternating with the 80m station from time to time. Frequencies will be in 
the usual SSB and CW DX haunts on each band with SSB split up 5 kHz and CW 
split up 3 kHz. The callsign will be announced at the beginning of the 
operation on March 6th. The website will be up and running in a few weeks at:

07/03/2009:  Tino/HI3CCP, Andy/VE9DX and Edwin/HI3K will be active as HI3K from 
the Loma Del Toro contest station (HI3CCP), Dominican Republic (NA-096, WLOTA 
LH-2974), during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 7-8th) as a Multi-Single entry.

28/03/2009:  Members of Barry Amateur Radio Society from South Wales will going 
on a expedition to the Isle of Man (EU-116, WLOTA LH-0449) from March 28th to 
April 4th. The radio team will be Glyn GW0ANA, Curtis MW0USK, Franz DJ9ZB, Jan 
DJ8NK, Thomas DJ6OI, Alois DL8RBL, Yasu a JA DX operator, Lois MW3LOI (YL) and 
their wives and partners. They will be QRV from 160-10m using SSB, CW, RTTY and 
PSK. They will also be monitoring 6 meters for any openings. Plans are to use 
the callsign GT4BRS on CW and SSB, while GT6BRS will be used on RTTY and PSK. 
Note the GT prefix is a special call for Isle of Man (Remember TT Races on 
IOM). The group will also be active during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 
28-29th), using the callsign GD8K. All QSL cards via Manager GW0ANA BURO or

31/03/2009:  Simon, M0VKY will be active from Lanzarote Island (AF-004, DIE 
S-007, WLOTA LH-0099) as EA8/homecall between March 31st and April 5th. Working 
conditions will be FT857D 1/2 wave dipole for 20m, 1/2 wave dipole for 40 AND

09/04/2009:  Ben, DO1BEN will be active from Lolland Island (EU-029, DIA 
SJ-015) as OZ/homecall from April 9-17th. QRV on all HF bands, using SSB and 
somtimes digital modes. Location is 5 meters from the Baltic Sea. QSL via home

30/05/2009:  Eric, K9GY will be active from the YN2N QTH in Grenada, Nicaragua, 
probably as YN2/K9GY, during the CQWW WPX CW Contest (May 30-31st) as a

31/01/2009:  On 31 January and 1 February Ted Moore, G7AIR will be operating a 
special event station on behalf of The Eddystone User Group at the site of the 
Point of Ayre Lighthouse (BARLS A5122X, ARLHS IOM-013) on the Isle of Man 
(EU-116). The callsigns used will GT3EUG on 80m, GT7EUG on 40m and GD7AIR on
