AMEN ! I have asked N7NG about instituting a
LEVEL PLAYING FIELD for the single band awards
but he is afraid of backlash from the award holders.
As it stands, there is NO constant number of achievable
entities since the listings show the sum of Current Plus
DELETED entities. Even though I have worked all but
2 of the current entities on 40M, I am well below the
Old Timer Leaders who have more DELETED countries,
and I have been a serious all band DXer since the 1960's.
I believe a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD (listing only current
countries) for the single band awards would be a great
enticement for younger / newer DXers. As it stands,
the I2EOW TOPBANDS List is THE premier listing
for SERIOUS All Band DX'ers since it is based on
CURRENT entities and includes ALL bands from
160 through 10M but NO VHF (6M) as the Desoto Award does.
I would like to see a poll of the single band DXCC holders
to determine whether Deleted Countries should be included
in single band awards or if they prefer a Level Playing Field.
