VP8 - Mike, VP8CMH/mm reports that the attempt at getting to Halley Base
(75S-035W) has been cancelled due to the heavy pack that is

VP8 - The Daily DX reports that operational dates for the activities from
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands [425DXN 553] "are
entirely dependent on the weather, sea and ice conditions in the
South Atlantic. If the team can manage to operate from South
Sandwich it should be expected towards the 3rd week of January and
for only a few days (perhaps 3-4). The group hopes to be at South
Georgia for a longer period, perhaps 10 days, during the later part

           visit http://www.qsl.net/ya5t/ for updates.
ZF - Lou, KE1F will be active (on 10-160 metres CW, SSB and perhaps

ZS_ant - Now that the summer season has begun, Anton, ZS7/ZS4AGA [425DXN
553] is particularly busy. The commercial radio equipment at the
SANAE IV Antarctic base has to be used for flight controlling and
other summer tasks and Anton might be no longer able to operate on
the amateur radio bands before leaving Antarctica in February. [TNX
           DL5EBE]

+ SILENT KEY + John Van Putten, WD8MGQ reports the very sad news of the

dozen IOTA groups in the US and will be sorely missed by the IOTA community
worldwide. A short biography on Joe is available at http://www.qrz.com/k2olg

GUANTANAMO ---> Please note that there is no QSL Bureau in Guantanamo (KG4).
All cards should be sent according to the operator's instructions and never
to a KG4 call through the bureau. Bill Gallier, W4WX/KG4DX is the QSL manager
for Clayton, KG4PK (president of the KG4AN radio club and currently the only
active KG4 living at Guantanamo). [TNX W4WX]

PIRATE ---> Serge Gorobec, 4K5CW says he does not operate RTTY or other
digital modes. The station recently and repeatedly spotted on RTTY was not
the genuine 4K5CW, do not waiste your time and money on QSLling.

QSL 3X1K ---> DF8AN is not the QSL manager for 3X1K. This station, appearing
sporadically and staying on the air for only a few contacts, is probably a
pirate. [TNX W4YO]

QSL AP2JZB ---> With immediate effect cards should be sent direct only to
AP2JZB. Leon, K2EWB will be able to confirm contacts made prior to 1 January
2002. [TNX The Daily DX]

QSL BY1PK ---> If you worked BY1PK on *24 September 2001*, then you should
send your cards to BA4DW (David Y. J. Zhou, P.O. Box 040-088, Shanghai,
200040, China). David operated that day from the CRSA (Chinese Radio Sports
Association) HQ station during his business trip to Beijing. QSLs for other
QSOs go to BY1PK (P.O. Box 6106, Beijing, China) or via the route given by
guest operators.

QSL CO2OJ ---> Al Bailey, K8SIX is the QSL manager for CO2OJ for all contacts
after 1 January 2001. He can also help with QSOs prior to that date, but
please e-mail him ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) before sending your card.

QSL JW0PK ---> Jacek, SP5DRH reports that the first 500 direct QSL cards for
JW0PK (Prins Karl Forland, EU-063) were mailed a few days before Christmas.
The rest will be sent out in batches of 250 cards per week, bureau cards will
follow.

QSL P29NB ---> "QRZ-DX" reports that Norm is handling his own QSLing now,
including P20X for 1993 and earlier. Requests should be sent to Norm Beasley,
SIL PO Box 437, Ukarumpa EHP 444, Papua New Guinea. He asks not to use IRCs,
as PNG does not recognize them. [TNX N4AA]

QSL UA2FX ---> Igor, UA2FX reports that is previous Kalinigrad address (POB
102) is not valid any longer. The new QSL route for direct QSLs *only* is via
DK4VW (Ulrich Mueller, Kreutzacker 13, D-35041 Marburg, Germany). Bureau
cards are still to be sent through the Russian bureau.

QSL V73UX ---> Paul Rubinfeld, WF5T is not the QSL manager for V73UX. Cards
should be sent direct to Dave Fortin, P.O. Box 66, APO AP 96555, USA. WF5T is
the QSL manager for George, V73GT and V73E (IOTA expedition to OC-087 in
April 2001).

QSL XT2DX ---> XT2DX logged nearly 16,000 QSOs in the CQ WW DX CW Contest in
November (see the details at http://www.voodudes.org). All requests for QSL
cards (over 2,000 QSOs) have now been answered. The QSL Manager is G3SXW
(Roger Western, 7 Field Close, Chessington, KT9 2QD, England); bureau cards
can be requested by e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (please include both
call-signs, date, time, band). [TNX G3SXW]
