In Ubuntu's global menu however, it's displayed as a long, empty menu, no grid, no images and no tooltips. Selecting an entry still inserts the smiley in the conversation window, but it's not really usable that way. I'm submitting this as a new report for bug #596103, as advised ba mpt.
