update: The switching works if I use other pair of PgUp PgDown keys. (The pair which is in the same row as the F1, ..., F12 keys.) The reported issue concerns PgUp and PgDown on the numerical keys.

This concerns both the Terminal and Google Chrome. No matter if the NumLock is on or off. Interestingly, switching between tabs in Firefox works. If I attach an external USB keyboard then the keyboard strokes work fine also in Terminal and Google Chrome.
