You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Because the pointer can move quite rapidly from a position to another,
the proximity effect might be confused with a mouse hover effect.
Because ephemeral notifications are not click-able, this would give to
the user to wrong message.
Proposed solutions:
Increase proximity area from 40px to 100px (please convert the new value
to em, or density independent unit, if needed).
