Same in Ubuntu 14.04. It is quite problematic since some applications
can't be used anymore. For example DavMail. Is there any plan from the
Unity team to bring back the whitelist feature?

Title:
  systray-whitelist gone

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  $ gsettings list-keys com.canonical.Unity.Panel
  No such schema 'com.canonical.Unity.Panel'

  What happened with the systray-whitelist? Is its absence in 13.04 the
  reason why the icon of my pet app Mail Notification
  (https://launchpad.net/mail-notification) no longer shows up?

  Please give us back a possibility to decide which icons to display in
  the systray.
